Past Continuous
Kada se koristi:
1. Kad govorimo o radnji koja je trajala u prošlosti
"They were talking for hours." - Pričali su satima.
Često ćete primetiti priloge za vreme kao što su:
for hours/days/weeks/months/years - satima/danima/nedeljama/mesecima/godinama
all day/night - ceo dan/celu noć
all week/month/ year - celu nedelju/mesec/godinu
all morning/afternoon/evening - celo jutro/poslepodne /veče
the whole time - sve vreme...
2. Kad pričamo o tome šta se dešavalo u određenom momentu
"At this time yesterday I was cleaning my room." - U ovo vreme juče sam čistio svoju sobu.
3. Za radnju koja je trajala u prošlosti i bila prekinuta
" Tom was putting on his clothes when his phone rang. " - Tom se oblačio kada mu je zazvonio telefon.
4. Kada su dve radnje trajale paralelno.
"I was setting the table while she was cooking." - Ja sam postavljala sto dok je ona kuvala.
Kako se gradi
Potvrdan oblik
Subjekat + was/were + present participle
I was talking.
Odričan oblik
Subjekat + was/were + not + present participle
He was not listening.
Često se koristi skraćeni oblik:
He wasn't listening.
Upitan oblik
Was/were + subjekat + present participle
Were you listening?
Po licima:
Potvrdan Oblik
I was reading We were reading
You were reading You were reading
He/She/It was reading They were reading
Odričan Oblik
I wasn't reading We weren't reading
You weren't reading You weren't reading
He/She/It wasn't reading They weren't reading
Upitan Oblik
Was I reading? Were we reading?
Were you reading? Were you reading?
Was he/she/it reading? Were they reading?
